Final Conference in Progress

Presentation of the results of the CONSENT project

After opening of the conference by the CONSENT co-ordinating person Joseph Cannataci, Nikolaus Forgó has presented the findings of Work Packages No. 2 – 6. The research related to these Work Packages has mapped out and classified the SNSs and UGCs existing and used in target countries, their privacy policies and interoperability as well as legal regulations related to these issues.

Noellie Brockdorff has provided the overview of the findings of Work Packages No. 7 and 8, which used the quantitative and qualitative analysis to find out about the consumers' attitudes awareness of privacy issues online and service providers' practices.

Joseph Cannataci has presented the policy implications that have been formulated based on the CONSENT research. The policy implications are reflected in two basic documents:

  • the toolkit for policy makers and corporate counsel contains the set of tools based on values and best practices identified, and
  • a concise policy brief available to the policy makers, especially on the European legislative level.
